Lucas Garcia, Ph.D. is an instructional assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. Dr. Garcia earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, a Master's degree in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University and his Ph.D. in Public Policy from Walden University. He is currently teaching Introduction to Agricultural Economics and Critical Thinking & Decision Making in Agricultural Economics. Dr. Garcia is also a member of the department’s undergraduate advisory committee and is currently working to expand curriculum and upper-level courses to be taught at the Higher Education Center at McAllen. He is passionate about student success and his responsibilities include: student advising, public outreach, and various education program involvement.
