Samantha Castellanos

Industry Experience

Samantha Castellanos is the Assistant Director for Student Affairs at the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. She focuses on supporting students’ academic and personal development to enhance their college experience. Samantha strives to meet students where they are, support their dreams, and empower them during their academic career to reach degree completion.

Samantha graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Technology Management and a minor in Business Administration. She later attended Sam Houston State University where she graduated with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration. Samantha began her higher education work experience in 2012 and held roles such as TRIO Program Mentor, College Adviser, Academic Advisor, Program Coordinator for the Graduation Help Desk, and Assistant Director for Graduation Initiatives. Each position gave Samantha insight on the student experience from the undergraduate to graduate level in which she utilized to implement institutional changes and programming initiatives.

Samantha is a proud Rio Grande Valley native. In her spare time Samantha enjoys outdoor activities, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
