Manage Global Logistics and Supply Chains
Texas A&M University at Galveston recently launched this new program at the Higher Education Center at McAllen, it brings the specialized yet widely applicable degree to the Rio Grande Valley. Students learn the ins and outs of maritime business administration from industry experts and longtime veterans. This degree highlights Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management. These areas are important and relevant to our region as the Port of Brownsville is entering a multi-billion-dollar expansion and 80% of the world’s goods move on ships including components and finished products from the maquilas and produce grown in the Rio Grande Valley.
A May 2023 study by the HEA Group listed Marine Transportation among the top earning college majors. Whether a student is interested in the running of ports, working in a shipping company, or getting into accounting, finance, or management related to logistics and supply chains, this degree is perfect for driven individuals that want to land a great job in a growing industry.
